Mother’s Day is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of May. In 2025, Mother’s Day will fall on 11th May in USA, India, Singapore, South Africa, Canada etc. Many countries across the world celebrate it on different days because of other major historical events.
Why We Celebrate Mothers Day
Celebrations of Mother’s Day began in early 20th century. Anna Jarvis, an American lady chose a day to acknowledge services rendered by mothers to humanity in different facets of life. Her mother had formed Mother’s Day Work Clubs in the churches of West Virginia to help mothers. And when she died, Anna worked hard to declare an official day for Mothers in USA and in 1914 it was declared an official holiday. We celebrate this day to celebrate motherhood and acknowledge sacrifices made by mothers in everyday lives for their children. It is a beautiful day to celebrate this amazing spirit.
