How is Baisakhi Festival Celebrated?

Baisakhi is primarily the harvest festival in Punjab. It is at this time when harvest of winter crops takes place and makes a perfect thanksgiving occasion for the hard working farmers. Not only these, celebrations of Baisakhi also involve thanking Gods for blessing with good harvest and seeking blessings for prosperity and happiness. It is on this day that Guru Gobind Singh ji established Khalsa Panth in Anadpur Sahib by distributing amrit amongst first group of followers and converting them into Sikhs thereby forming the very popular Sikh community.
